Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker to join their maintenance and repair team in Richards Bay . In this vital role, you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and repairing structural metal components on various aircraft. Your expertise in interpreting blueprints, working with diverse metals, and ensuring precise craftsmanship is essential for maintaining the structural integrity and airworthiness of our fleet. This position is hands‑on and requires a strong commitment to quality and safety standards in a demanding aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and install new or replacement sheet metal parts for aircraft structures according to blueprints and specifications.
• Perform repairs on damaged aircraft skins, bulkheads, ribs, and other structural components.
• Operate sheet metal tools and machinery, including shears, brakes, punches, and riveting equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair schemes.
• Perform drilling, riveting, and sealing operations with high precision and attention to detail.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and airworthiness directives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker or similar structural repair role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints , technical drawings, and repair manuals.
• Skilled in the use of sheet metal fabrication tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of different metals and their properties used in aircraft construction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to work flexible hours in Richards Bay .
