Petroleum Engineer - Reservoir Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Petroleum Engineer specializing in Reservoir Management to join their forward-thinking team, supporting operations remotely. This role is essential for maximizing the economic recovery of hydrocarbons from existing fields. You will be responsible for analyzing reservoir performance, developing strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and managing production forecasts. Working within a dynamic, remote-first environment, you will collaborate with geoscientists and production engineers to optimize reservoir development plans and contribute to the sustainable energy supply from the Limpopo region's potential resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze well and reservoir performance data to identify production trends and opportunities.
• Develop and implement reservoir management strategies, including optimizing injection and production rates.
• Evaluate and propose enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods suitable for field conditions.
• Create and update reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and test various scenarios.
• Prepare technical reports, economic evaluations, and reserve updates for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote setting to ensure integrated field development plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in reservoir engineering and management within the oil and gas sector.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG Suite, Techlog).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid mechanics, and EOR principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex geological and engineering data.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote capacity.
