Lead Aquatics Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Aquatics Manager to oversee all operations and programming at their state-of-the-art aquatic center in Pretoria. This pivotal role involves managing staff, ensuring safety standards are met, developing engaging aquatic programs, and driving membership growth for this key leisure and sports facility. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming and secure environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels, while optimizing resource allocation and enhancing the overall member experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for promoting water safety and aquatic fitness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the aquatic facility, including pool maintenance and safety checks.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatic staff.
• Develop and implement a diverse range of aquatics programs, including swimming lessons, fitness classes, and competitive team support.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and emergency protocols, maintaining certifications and compliance.
• Manage the aquatics budget, including inventory control for equipment and supplies.
• Foster positive relationships with members, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aquatics management or a similar role within a leisure or sports facility.
• Current Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications are mandatory.
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in staff supervision, program development, and budget management.
