About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Remote Environmental Engineer to join their team, supporting initiatives that impact regions including Soweto , but with the flexibility to work from anywhere. This role involves assessing environmental impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations for various civil engineering projects. You will play a critical part in promoting sustainable development and environmental stewardship by applying your expertise in areas such as water quality, waste management, and pollution control. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and prepare associated reports and management plans.
• Develop strategies for pollution prevention, waste management, and resource conservation.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national environmental legislation and standards.
• Monitor environmental conditions and provide technical guidance on remediation efforts.
• Collaborate virtually with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Research and apply innovative environmental engineering solutions to project challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, or a related discipline.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr Sci Nat) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental engineering consulting or project management.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, impact assessment processes, and sustainable design principles.
• Proficiency in environmental modeling and data analysis tools.
• Excellent remote communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
