Buyer II

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer II to join their purchasing team, operating remotely to support their Mossel Bay -based operations. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the supply chain, focusing on the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will be responsible for managing daily procurement activities, cultivating supplier relationships, and ensuring that all purchases meet the company's standards for quality and value. Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services according to specifications and budget constraints.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, obtaining quotes and comparing proposals.
• Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and provide timely support.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in a buyer or purchasing role.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and best practices.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for remote interaction.
• A relevant diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration is a plus.
