Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Geologist to join their dynamic exploration team based in Midrand . This critical role will involve leading geological investigations, resource modeling, and strategic planning for new mining ventures across various commodity types. You will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential mining sites, contributing significantly to the company's growth and resource portfolio. This position offers the chance to work on exciting projects with a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of geological science and responsible resource development in Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and interpret geological surveys and exploration programs.
• Develop and manage 3D geological models and resource estimates using advanced software.
• Conduct detailed field mapping, sampling, and data analysis to identify and delineate mineral deposits.
• Collaborate with mining engineers and geophysicists to integrate exploration data into mine planning.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, technical memorandums, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance to the exploration team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration geology, with a strong understanding of various geological environments.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software such as Leapfrog, ioGAS, or Vulcan.
• Proven experience in data acquisition, quality control, and interpretation of geophysical and geochemical data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex geological information clearly.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote exploration sites.
