Design Draughtsperson - Cape Town (Contract)- Salary market related
Position Type: Contract

Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial and utility boilers, is looking for a motivated Design Draughtsperson to join their Industrial Watertube Boiler Business Unit on a contract basis. Reporting to the Design Office Manager, you will be responsible for creating detailed manufacturing drawings, performing basic calculations, and conducting site measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Detailed Design & Draughting: Check and create detailed manufacturing layout drawings using Inventor 3D modelling and AutoCAD.
- Site Visits & Measurements: Coordinate site visits to measure equipment and create accurate site sketches.
- Technical Calculations: Carry out basic engineering calculations to support drawing development using reference project data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering, Projects, and Workshop departments to ensure design accuracy and smooth execution.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with a strong academic track record.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of mechanical draughting experience utilizing 3D packages (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, or Pro-Engineer).
- Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on proficiency in 3D modelling and AutoCAD. Experience with Autodesk Vault, Inventor, and Plant 3D is highly advantageous.
- Core Competencies: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), strong English communication skills (oral and written), and high self-motivation.
