We are seeking a Mid to Senior Agentic Software Engineer (4-8 years' exp) in Sandton. This role blends strong full-stack foundations with AI development agents, AI Skills, and structured instruction files to deliver secure, enterprise-grade software at pace.

Acting as a human-in-the-loop, you will direct AI agents, validate generated code, contribute to architecture, and continuously refine AI-driven workflows.

Minimum Requirements

• 4-8 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Digital Banking / Financial Services experience is strongly preferred.
• Commercial experience with cross-platform mobile frameworks (React Native and/or Flutter preferred; experience with .NET MAUI, Swift, Kotlin, or Ionic is advantageous).
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent enterprise AI platforms) and markdown instruction files.
• Solid technical foundation in SOLID principles, distributed systems, API design, cloud-native architecture, automated testing (TDD), CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Framework-agnostic mindset with the ability to learn and adapt to new stacks quickly.

AI-Accelerated Delivery & Tools

• Direct AI development agents using enterprise AI platforms, GitHub Copilot, and Claude.
• Utilize complete product inputs including user stories, Figma designs, business rules, design-system components, and markdown instruction files.
• Refine AI Skills, prompts, workflows, and guardrails to optimize delivery velocity and code consistency.

Full-Stack, Mobile & Data Engineering

• Build end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend, APIs, microservices, cloud-native components, and persistence/data layers.
• Work across programming languages including JavaScript / TypeScript, C#, and relevant backend stacks.
• Develop cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, and .NET MAUI (with exposure to Swift, Kotlin, or Ionic).
• Move fluidly across frameworks and platforms based on programme delivery priorities.

Architecture, Security & Code Assurance

• Critically review agent-generated outputs to ensure adherence to SOLID principles, distributed systems, API design, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Maintain non-negotiable enterprise quality standards across security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and accessibility.
• Spot emerging technical debt, architectural drift, and quality risks early.

Quality Engineering, DevSecOps & Continuous Improvement

• Implement automated testing / TDD, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and system observability.
• Translate engineering conventions and security policies into reusable agent guidance and instruction files.
• Contribute to scaling Agentic Engineering practices and operating models across the broader delivery team.
