Job Title: Estate Supervisor

Grade: B5

Reports To: Senior Estate Manager

Department / Centre: Ubizo Estate

Main Purpose of the job:

• Implement the Agronomy and Ratoon management program
• Keep an updated planning board
• Knowledge of Weed control
• Correct application of herbicides and fertilizer to the fields
• Ensure correct calibration of applicators
• Knowledge of Soil Sampling
• Ensure correct timing of application and implementation of work to be done
• Document and record stock usage
• Knowledge of seed cane production
• Knowledge of Pest and Disease control
• Knowledge of haulage and Harvesting operations
• Understand SHE compliance and requirements
• Good community relations
• Resolve employee issues and workplace disputes
• Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
• Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Learn a variety of job descriptions and multitask

Qualifications &Experience:

A minimum of 3 years Agriculture related Tertiary qualification

• Senior Certificate in Sugarcane from SASRI
• SHE Training
• More than 3 years of work experience in Sugar Industry, of which two years must have been spent in sugarcane agriculture
• Must be able to communicate in English and isiZulu
• Be a very good Team member
• A valid driver’s License with driving experience

• The ideal candidate must be honest, must be a hard worker, have traceable references and be able to work well in a team
