Engineer (Civil or Structural)

Our client in the Engineering Consulting industry is seeking to employ an Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team based in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to take ownership of projects across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

Requirements:

• BEng Civil Engineering or BSc Civil Engineering qualification
• 4–6 years’ relevant engineering experience
• Experience in structural design and analysis
• Experience working on residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects
• Ability to effectively manage and run projects from inception through to completion
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Good understanding of structural engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional and client-focused approach
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute structural engineering projects from concept through to completion
• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and design
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
• Develop practical and cost-effective structural engineering solutions
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction
• Review designs and ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations
• Identify and resolve technical and structural challenges
• Provide engineering input across residential, commercial, and industrial projects
• Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, time, and technical standards
