Industrial Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to support their manufacturing operations in Upington . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the plant. You will be involved in design modifications, troubleshooting, maintenance support, and continuous improvement initiatives related to industrial electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, automation, and safety protocols, and is committed to optimizing plant operations and contributing to a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to machinery, control systems, power distribution, and instrumentation.
• Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Support the implementation of automation projects, including PLC programming and HMI configuration.
• Conduct electrical system audits and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve electrical issues and enhance operational performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, including schematics and maintenance logs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial electrical engineering role.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, motor control, power distribution, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and HMI software is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a plant environment.
