AWOL Tours specialises in guided cycling, hiking and adventure experiences in Cape Town and the surrounding regions. We are looking for an organised, personable Tour Consultant who can turn enquiries into bookings and deliver accurate, professional service to guests and travel agents.
The role comprises 21 working days per month, including rostered weekends and public holidays. Approximately 16 days will focus on sales and guest service, with five days allocated to marketing and business development. You will also assist with tour operations when required.

AWOL Tours has run guided cycling, hiking and active adventure tours from Cape Town since 2002. We are a small team, and our office at Battery Park in the V&A Waterfront is open seven days a week. We are looking for a Reservations and Sales Consultant to join us there ahead of the summer season.
This is a front-line selling role. You will be the person guests meet at the counter, the person who answers the telephone and the enquiry inbox, and the person who carries a booking from first enquiry through to confirmed and paid.
The role
- Convert walk-in, telephone and email enquiries into confirmed bookings
- Prepare quotations, process bookings and take payment accurately
- Advise guests on the tours that suit their fitness, interests and time
- Process confirmed agent, STO and OTA bookings, including vouchers, rooming lists and net rates
- Keep the tour schedule accurate and complete the day-before checks on every departure
- Manage bicycle rentals, including preparing and handing over rental bicycles and the Cape Town Cycle Tour race weekend fleet
- Work a share of weekends and public holidays on a published roster
What we are looking for
- Two to five years in reservations or travel sales, ideally with an inbound tour operator, destination management company or travel agency
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong numeracy literacy who can process guest and agent reservations
- The ability to quote quickly and accurately while the counter and the telephone are both busy
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Confident with booking systems, Google Workspace, WhatsApp Business, Xero and Yoco
- Organised, accurate and reliable with detail
- A valid driver's licence
- The right to work in South Africa
- Availability to work 21 days a month, including a weekend and public holiday rotation, which is a condition of the role

What we offer
- A Gross salary of R14,000 to R28,000 a month depending on experience, includes commission on nett travelled sales
- Sunday and public holiday premiums in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
