Environmental Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Environmental Engineer to join their team on-site in Sandton. This role is crucial for ensuring that development projects comply with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices. You will be involved in environmental impact assessments, pollution control strategies, and remediation efforts. Your expertise will help mitigate environmental risks and ensure the ecological integrity of projects. This position requires a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and the ability to work effectively within a project team and on various site locations. You will be a key contributor to responsible development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for new projects.
• Develop and implement pollution prevention and control strategies.
• Monitor environmental compliance and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Design and oversee remediation plans for contaminated sites.
• Advise project teams on environmental best practices and mitigation measures.
• Prepare environmental reports, permits, and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or engineering.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and permitting processes in South Africa.
• Experience with environmental modeling and monitoring techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
