Community Engagement Facilitator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Community Engagement Facilitator to join their team in Mossel Bay . This role is essential for building and strengthening relationships between the organization and the diverse communities it serves. You will be responsible for organizing events, facilitating dialogue, and ensuring that community voices are heard and integrated into organizational planning. Your work will be crucial in fostering trust, collaboration, and positive social impact within the Western Cape region. This position requires a person passionate about community development and skilled in communication and event management, based in the beautiful coastal town of Mossel Bay .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for effective community engagement and outreach.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, focus groups, and public forums.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, residents, and local organizations.
• Communicate project updates, initiatives, and opportunities to the community in an accessible manner.
• Gather community feedback, concerns, and suggestions, and report them to relevant internal teams.
• Coordinate volunteer efforts and support community-led initiatives.

Requirements

• A qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field.
• Proven experience in community engagement, facilitation, or stakeholder relations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mediate discussions and manage diverse groups effectively.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the social and economic landscape of the Western Cape is an asset.
