About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and proactive Senior IT Network Administrator to join their fully remote team. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructure that supports all company operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and performance of our client's network systems, managing firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs. This position requires a deep understanding of networking principles, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to lead complex network projects in a distributed environment. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our client's IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of a dynamic business, while mentoring junior IT staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage the company's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless infrastructure.
  • Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Lead network upgrade projects and evaluate new technologies to enhance network capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) and network security principles.
  • Proficiency in managing firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
