About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Upington . This crucial role involves the assessment, development, and management of hydrocarbon reservoirs to maximize economic recovery in the Oil & Gas industry . You will conduct in-depth reservoir studies, develop production strategies, and provide expert analysis to guide exploration and development decisions. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact reservoir performance and contribute to the company's strategic objectives in a key operational region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed reservoir characterization using geological and geophysical data.
- Develop and execute reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
- Analyze reservoir performance data, identify production enhancement opportunities, and implement appropriate strategies.
- Conduct economic evaluations and risk assessments for reservoir development projects.
- Collaborate with drilling, production, and facility engineers to ensure integrated asset management.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, preferably with experience in relevant basin types.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid properties, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
