About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Remote Pharmaceutical Project Manager to lead critical projects within their global operations. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects related to drug development, regulatory submissions, or product launches, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills to manage cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams effectively. You will play a key role in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of key pharmaceutical initiatives, fostering a connected and high-performing remote work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Lead and manage project teams, providing direction, motivation, and performance oversight.
- Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including remote team members and external partners.
- Manage project documentation, conduct regular status meetings, and provide comprehensive project reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP certification is a strong asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
- Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to manage remote teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical development processes, regulatory affairs, or commercial operations.
