Senior Aviation Compliance Manager
About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Aviation Compliance Manager to lead their compliance department. This role is critical for ensuring adherence to all national and international aviation regulations, maintaining operational integrity, and mitigating risks. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive compliance strategies, conducting audits, and liaising with regulatory bodies. This is an office-based position where you will work closely with operational teams, legal counsel, and senior management to uphold the highest standards of aviation governance. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the aviation industry's regulatory landscape and a proven track record of successfully managing compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the organization's aviation compliance program
- Ensure adherence to all relevant aviation laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., SACAA, ICAO).
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and risks.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, manage inspections, and respond to inquiries.
- Develop and deliver compliance training to relevant personnel across the organization.
- Oversee the documentation and reporting of compliance-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in aviation compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal roles.
- In-depth knowledge of South African civil aviation regulations and international aviation standards.
- Proven experience in developing and managing compliance programs and conducting audits.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, office-based environment.
