Cloud Security Architect

About the Role Our client is looking for an innovative and experienced Cloud Security Architect to design and implement secure cloud environments in Stellenbosch . This role is crucial for ensuring the security and compliance of cloud-based infrastructure and applications hosted on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security best practices into the entire cloud lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in cloud security principles, automation, and threat modeling within distributed cloud ecosystems, contributing to a secure and scalable cloud strategy. Key Responsibilities Design and implement secure cloud architectures, leveraging cloud-native security services and best practices. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines across the organization. Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions for cloud environments. Design and deploy security automation solutions for cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, alerting, and response. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline and DevOps practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or in a similar cloud security engineering role. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective security services. Expertise in designing and implementing secure network architectures, IAM, data encryption, and threat detection in the cloud. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and security automation.
