Senior DeFi Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior DeFi Engineer to join their fully remote team. You will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, contributing to the next generation of financial services built on blockchain technology. This role demands a deep understanding of financial markets, smart contract security, and scalable blockchain architectures. As a key member of our client's engineering division, you will drive technical direction, mentor fellow engineers, and play a crucial role in shaping the future of decentralized finance in the global crypto and blockchain arena. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for innovation and a proven track record in DeFi development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust and secure DeFi protocols and smart contracts.
• Optimize existing DeFi applications for performance, security, and gas efficiency.
• Conduct thorough security audits and risk assessments for smart contracts and protocol integrations.
• Collaborate with product teams to conceptualize and implement new DeFi features and products.
• Stay updated on the latest trends, research, and security challenges in the Decentralized Finance space.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on DeFi and smart contract development .
• Proven experience building complex financial protocols, such as AMMs, lending platforms, or derivatives.
• Expertise in Solidity and experience with various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Polygon, Solana).
• Strong understanding of financial mathematics, economic incentives, and cryptocurrency markets .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with formal verification methods is a plus.
