Mine Surveyor - Underground Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Mine Surveyor to support their underground mining operations in Centurion, Gauteng . This role is crucial for accurately mapping underground workings, ensuring compliance with mining plans, and maintaining precise spatial data. You will work closely with mine management and engineering teams to provide essential survey information that underpins safe and efficient extraction. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise underground surveys to establish survey control and map mine excavations.
• Monitor and record mine advance, subsidence, and ground movement using specialized equipment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate mine plans, sections, and 3D models of underground workings.
• Calibrate and maintain survey instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
• Assist engineers in setting out underground tunnels, stopes, and other mine structures.
• Process and analyze survey data, producing reports for mine planning and operational teams.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mine Surveyor, with significant exposure to underground mining .
• Proficiency in using survey equipment such as Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Experience with mine surveying software (e.g., Surpac, AutoCAD) is required.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
