Operations and Compliance Analyst Location: South Africa Working Arrangement: Remote Working Hours: UK hours Salary Range: R28 000 per month About the Role We are looking for an experienced and detail focused Operations and Compliance Analyst to join a dynamic and fast moving financial services environment. This is a fully remote opportunity for someone based in South Africa , working UK hours . The main purpose of this role is to support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, ensuring the business continues to meet its regulatory and legal requirements. Sitting within the 1st Line of Defence , you will form part of the Compliance Department and report directly to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer. You will play an important role in supporting and continuously improving the day to day operation of the firm's compliance and anti financial crime framework. Your core areas of focus will include Customer Due Diligence and Know Your Customer, Politically Exposed Person, sanctions and adverse media screening and transaction monitoring . As part of the Compliance Department, you will also work within the wider Operations Team. Collaboration will be key to ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service while maintaining full compliance with internal requirements and external regulatory obligations. This is a hands on position within a fast paced environment where priorities can change quickly. The Compliance Team works closely with colleagues across the wider business, so you will need to be comfortable managing competing priorities, making sound risk based decisions and providing timely and practical compliance support without compromising regulatory obligations. Key Responsibilities Compliance and Operations Assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in ensuring the firm's compliance framework meets its regulatory obligations. Manage client onboarding, including Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence checks as well as Source of Funds and Source of Wealth checks. Conduct transaction monitoring on both a live and retrospective basis, escalating concerns or suspicions in line with internal processes. Manage internal screening processes, reviewing potential matches relating to Politically Exposed Persons, adverse media and sanctions lists. Liaise directly with prospects and clients to obtain all necessary Know Your Customer documentation. Perform periodic reviews of existing clients to ensure Know Your Customer information remains complete, accurate and up to date. Act as a point of contact within the business for compliance and onboarding related matters. Support the onboarding of affiliates and referring partners, conducting all relevant checks. Assist counterparties and partner banks by coordinating and responding to Requests for Information as part of their ongoing monitoring processes. Manage and process updates to existing client information, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected across internal systems in accordance with operational procedures and compliance requirements. Additional Responsibilities Make recommendations to streamline compliance processes and enhance existing controls. Prepare compliance activity reports for senior management when requested. Assist with and lead various compliance related projects that arise across the business. Provide cover for relevant duties during periods of leave as directed from time to time. Undertake any other duties of a similar nature as directed by the business from time to time as the organisation continues to develop.
