Curro is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Advisor with a focus on the Foundation Phase (grade R to 3) to strengthen inclusive education practices across our schools. This pivotal role will lead and guide School-Based Support Teams (SBSTs), ensuring learners receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key performance areas
- SBST Oversight & Guidance Lead and support School-Based Support Teams (SBSTs), facilitate meetings, and monitor implementation of learner support plans.
- Capacity Building Conduct training and mentoring for educators and SBST members, promote collaboration, and develop support resources.
- Policy Implementation & Compliance Ensure alignment with DBE and Curro policies, monitor documentation and referrals, and liaise with external professionals.
- Learner Support Strategy Guide schools in proactive support strategies, design intervention programs, and promote assistive technologies.
- Data Management & Reporting Collect and analyse learner support data, prepare reports, and use insights to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Education, Psychology, Inclusive Education, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in learner support or special needs education (advantageous).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices and learner support strategies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to analyse data and prepare strategic reports.
- Proficiency in assistive technologies and differentiated learning approaches.
Experience
- Proven track record in leading or supporting SBSTs.
- Experience in educator training and capacity building.
- Familiarity with DBE policies and SIAS procedures.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in learner support or inclusive education environments.
