About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Research Biologist to join their Immunology department in Mahikeng . This position focuses on investigating immune system mechanisms and developing novel immunotherapies. You will conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and contribute to research projects aimed at understanding and treating immune-related diseases. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in immunology and a passion for scientific discovery in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and perform experiments to investigate immune cell function, cytokine profiles, and signaling pathways.
- Utilize techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, and cell culture for immunological assays.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, presenting findings to the research team.
- Contribute to the development of new research protocols and methodologies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and contribute to scientific reports.
- Collaborate with other researchers and technicians on interdisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in immunology research.
- Proficiency in core immunology techniques, including cell-based assays and molecular biology methods.
- Experience with flow cytometry analysis and data interpretation is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting in Mahikeng.
