Manage daily accounting and general ledger processes across entities
Prepare and process journals
Perform bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations
Investigate and resolve variances and reconciling items
Manage supplier accounting, statement reconciliations and payment support
Assist with monthly financial close and management accounts
Process and reconcile accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll, VAT and statutory accounts
Manage intercompany reconciliations across entities
Support multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange reconciliations
Reconcile operational booking systems to accounting records and investigate discrepancies
Prepare supporting schedules for reporting, audits and year-end
Assist with cash-flow reporting and forecasting
Identify control weaknesses and drive improvements in accounting processes
Maintain accurate, well-supported records and clear audit trails
Job Experience and Skills:
BCom in Accounting or Finance
Completed SAICA or SAIPA accounting articles essential
Sage Pastel, Xero or QuickBooks Online experience
Transaction-intensive industry experience
Strong month-end accounting experience
Gauteng-based and comfortable working fully remotely
Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies independently
Strong MS Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF formulas and large data sets)
Multi-company / group accounting experience advantageous
Multi-currency experience advantageous
Management accounts, cash flow, VAT and audit experience advantageous
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
