About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Process Engineer with specialization in specialty chemicals to join their team in Sandton . This role involves the continuous improvement and optimization of complex chemical processes, ensuring high product quality, efficiency, and safety. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting production issues, implementing process enhancements, and contributing to the development of new product formulations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, hands-on experience with process control, and a dedication to driving operational excellence in a specialized chemical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize existing processes for specialty chemical production to improve yield, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting production processes and equipment.
• Develop and implement process modifications and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC).
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams on the scale-up and implementation of new specialty chemical products.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality standards in Sandton .

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer, preferably in specialty chemicals.
• Strong understanding of unit operations relevant to chemical synthesis and purification.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software.
• Experience with process control systems and instrumentation is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
