Senior Animator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Animator to join their thriving creative studio located in Tembisa . You will play a crucial role in bringing characters and environments to life through high-quality animation. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to visually stunning projects and mentor junior members of the animation team. We seek an individual with a keen eye for detail, a passion for storytelling through movement, and a deep understanding of animation principles, working within a collaborative team environment dedicated to pushing creative boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality character and environmental animations that meet project requirements and artistic vision.
• Collaborate with the art director and lead animator to establish and maintain animation styles and quality standards.
• Mentor and provide feedback to junior animators, helping them to improve their skills and workflow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animation pipelines and software.
• Ensure all animations are optimized for performance and integration into the final product.
• Contribute to the development of animation tools and workflows to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in 3D animation for games, film, or interactive media.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Strong understanding of animation principles , including timing, spacing, weight, and character performance.
• Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high-quality animation work.
