ROLE SUMMARY The Radiation Therapy Unit Manager will be responsible for ensuring improved quality care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice in the unit. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that care and service delivery is implemented and practised within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team. In accordance the incumbent will be responsible to ensure capacity building, mentoring, and training**KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES****DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION****Administration*** Evaluate Information to determine compliance with standards — using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.* Implement and monitor departmental goals and objectives that align with the strategic direction of the organization.* Conduct budgeting and assume financial accountability to ensure targets are met.* Demonstrate experience with change management, policy documentation and the development of an innovative culture*.***Research activities*** Participate in clinical research through the Netcare ethic committee.* Be involved in Radiation Therapy research and quality improvement through presentations, publications, or in-services.**Continuous education*** Ensure that continuous education is in line with the HPCSA’s requirements.* Gain knowledge in current research publications in oncological treatments.* Keep up to date with the latest treatment protocols and advances in technology.**ACCELERATING TRANSFORMATION****Transformation targets*** Ensure achievement of transformation goals as set out by the Transformation Committee.**TRANSFORMATION OF OUR SOCIETY****Build and maintain stakeholder relationships*** Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial.* Create and maintain a positive environment where differences of others are recognized, understood and valued, so that all can reach their full potential and maximize their contributions.* Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish goals.* Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.* Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.* Develop and building teams — encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.**SKILLS PROFILE****EDUCATION**Required* Registration with the HPCSA as a Therapy Radiographer.* A relevant higher diploma or degree in Therapeutic Radiography at NQF level 7.Preferred* Further qualification in business management.**WORK EXPERIENCE**Required* Clinical radiation therapy and management experience in the private sector.**KNOWLEDGE**Required* Computer literacy.* Sound knowledge of radiation principals.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*** In the event of any physical or psychological limitation that may impair the employee’s ability to perform the required job function, the employee must consult the employer for reasonable accommodation.**SKILLS****Coaching Others*** The capacity to recognise development areas in others and support them to facilitate personal development through coaching.**Leading and Managing Change*** The capacity to implement and support change initiatives and to provide leadership in times of uncertainty.**Performance Development*** The ability to evaluate and develop different levels of capacity within a team to achieve set objectives.**Taking Action*** Capable of recognising the need for action, considering possible risks and taking responsibility for results.**Decision Making*** Capable of making decisions timeously and taking responsibility for the consequences.**Managing Self*** Capacity to plan, organise and control own work environment by setting appropriate priorities and achieving set objectives within a given time frame.**Customer Focus and Service Delivery*** The capacity to identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers.**Adapting and Responding to Change*** Capable of supporting and advocating change initiatives and managing own reaction to change.**Continuous Improvement*** The capacity to improve systems and processes to facilitate continuous improvement.**Technical Knowledge*** The capacity to perform a technical function to required standards.**WORKING CONDITIONS*** Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business operations.* Will interact with internal and external customers through several different means.* Travel to support the functions of the role may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
