Value Added Manager - Retail - Astral
The successful candidate will manage and grow key retail accounts, build lasting customer relationships and drive profitable growth across our Value Added portfolio.
Job Purpose
To drive profitable growth of the Value Added portfolio across key retail accounts through effective customer relationships, commercial management and flawless execution. The role develops strategic partnerships with key retail customers, identifies growth and innovation opportunities, and manages pricing, promotions, forecasting, service levels, and customer profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow key national and regional retail accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and senior retail stakeholders.
- Drive growth in sales, volume, profitability and distribution.
- Manage pricing, promotions, advertising activity and trading terms.
- Analyse customer performance, including strike rates, waste and promotional effectiveness.
- Develop accurate customer forecasts and ensure disciplined execution in store.
- Identify new listing and growth opportunities.
- Support new product development and lead the successful launch of innovation into retail.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Technical teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Commerce or related field.
- At least 5 years’ FMCG commercial or key account management experience.
- Proven track record of dealing directly with major retail customers and buyers.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of pricing, promotions, trading terms and customer profitability.
- Strong analytical, presentation and relationship-management skills.
- Experience in the food or Value Added category will be advantageous.
