Formulation Scientist - Pharmaceutical Development
About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Formulation Scientist to contribute to the development of innovative drug delivery systems in Nelspruit . This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables) to ensure drug efficacy, stability, and patient compliance. You will work collaboratively with analytical, process development, and manufacturing teams to advance candidates from early-stage research through to clinical trial material production. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop novel oral and parenteral dosage forms for small molecule and biologic drugs.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Optimize formulations for improved bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
- Prepare and characterize prototypes and clinical trial batches of drug products.
- Collaborate with analytical teams to develop and validate relevant testing methods.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Proven experience with various dosage forms and drug delivery technologies.
- Familiarity with excipient selection, compatibility studies, and stability testing.
- Strong understanding of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
