About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Insurance Claims Supervisor to lead their claims team in Upington . This leadership role involves overseeing the daily operations of the claims department, managing a team of claims handlers, and ensuring efficient, fair, and timely claims processing across all lines of business. You will be responsible for setting performance standards, providing guidance and training, and resolving escalated customer issues. This is a vital position for maintaining service quality and operational excellence within the company's claims function in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of insurance claims handlers, overseeing their workload and performance.
• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of all insurance claims in accordance with policy terms and company procedures.
• Handle and resolve complex or escalated claims issues, providing expert guidance to the team.
• Monitor claims performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost containment.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in insurance claims handling , with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various insurance products and claims processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
