Distribution Operations Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Distribution Operations Manager to lead their distribution center operations in Port Elizabeth . This senior role is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective management of all warehousing and logistics activities, ensuring timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. You will lead a team of logistics professionals, implement process improvements, and manage operational budgets to optimize supply chain performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and a data-driven approach to optimizing operations. This is a critical position for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance inventory accuracy.
• Manage and motivate the distribution center team, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, meeting or exceeding service level agreements.
• Manage transportation logistics and carrier relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
• Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and safety standards within the distribution center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Distribution or Warehouse Management .
• Proven experience in optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze operational data and implement data-driven improvements.
