About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely from Paarl. This role focuses on the conceptualization, design, and refinement of mechanical systems and components, utilizing advanced CAD tools and simulation techniques. You will be instrumental in developing solutions that meet rigorous performance and quality standards, collaborating effectively with a distributed team of engineers and product specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using advanced 3D CAD software.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to ensure design integrity.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and provide constructive feedback on design concepts.
• Manage assigned design tasks and timelines effectively within a remote work structure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
