Senior Tourism and Events Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and creative Senior Tourism and Events Coordinator to enhance the appeal and organization of tourism initiatives and events in East London . This role involves developing and implementing plans to attract visitors, promote local attractions, and manage key events that showcase the region's culture and offerings. You will work closely with local government, businesses, and tourism stakeholders to drive economic growth through vibrant events and tourism experiences in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote tourism in the region.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage major tourism and cultural events from conception to completion.
• Build and maintain relationships with tourism operators, hoteliers, and local attractions.
• Create promotional materials and manage digital presence for tourism initiatives.
• Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the tourism sector.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new tourism products and experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tourism promotion or event coordination.
• Proven experience in event planning, stakeholder management, and marketing campaigns.
• Strong understanding of the tourism industry, particularly within the Eastern Cape .
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
