Junior Chemical Engineer - Project Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to provide crucial project support at their facility in Klerksdorp . This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to gain broad experience in chemical process development and project execution. You will assist senior engineers in data collection, analysis, design calculations, and documentation for various ongoing projects. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with the team both on-site and remotely, learning essential skills in a supportive and challenging environment. This position is designed to foster growth and provide a solid foundation in chemical engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with process design calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare technical reports, datasheets, and basic P&IDs under supervision.
• Support pilot plant operations, including data logging and sample analysis.
• Conduct literature searches and assist in the evaluation of new technologies.
• Coordinate project documentation and maintain project files.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving sessions.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering .
• Basic understanding of chemical engineering principles and unit operations.
• Familiarity with process simulation software is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for a hybrid team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in Klerksdorp .
