Remote Industrial Maintenance Technician

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Industrial Maintenance Technician to support industrial operations in the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal area, entirely from a remote location. This pivotal role involves providing expert remote guidance, troubleshooting, and support for the maintenance and repair of complex industrial machinery and systems. You will be the primary remote point of contact for on-site technicians, offering detailed instructions and remote diagnostics to ensure plant equipment operates efficiently and safely. This position is ideal for a seasoned maintenance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert remote technical support and guidance for the troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Analyze machine performance data and diagnostic reports to identify root causes of failures or inefficiencies.
• Guide on-site maintenance teams through complex repair procedures and preventive maintenance tasks via remote communication channels.
• Develop and update maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guides for remote access and use by field teams.
• Monitor equipment status remotely and recommend proactive maintenance actions.
• Maintain detailed records of remote support interactions, resolutions, and equipment performance.

Requirements

• A strong technical background in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with significant exposure to complex machinery and control systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Excellent understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Exceptional remote communication skills, with proficiency in using video conferencing and remote diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals effectively.
