Chemical Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and results-driven Chemical Operations Manager to lead their production facility in Mahikeng. This leadership role is responsible for the overall management of all operational aspects, including production, safety, quality control, and personnel. You will drive operational efficiency, implement strategic initiatives, and ensure the facility meets its production and financial targets. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, extensive experience in chemical manufacturing, and a commitment to excellence in all facets of operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the chemical manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient and safe production.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure for the operations department.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as supply chain, sales, and R&D, to align operations with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Business Administration with a technical background.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale production facilities and driving operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage complex stakeholder relationships.
