Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated security team in Paarl. You will be at the forefront of protecting the organization’s digital assets from evolving threats, responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. This role requires a proactive approach, deep technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure to safeguard the company’s information security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) to detect potential threats.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents, determine root causes, and develop remediation plans.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance overall security posture.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and manage remediation efforts.
• Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
• Respond to security incidents, providing timely and effective resolution, and contributing to post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network security, and common attack vectors.
• Hands‑on experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
