About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a seasoned Remote Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations on a fully remote basis. This leadership role demands strategic oversight of all purchasing activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost management, to support diverse business units across the company. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust purchasing strategies that align with the company's financial goals and operational requirements, working from anywhere in South Africa . This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of global procurement best practices, and the ability to manage a distributed team effectively, driving efficiency and value from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies to achieve significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Oversee and manage the entire procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a remote team of purchasing professionals.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high levels of service and compliance.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing and procurement, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience managing remote teams and utilizing virtual collaboration tools.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
