Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Installation Technician to join their team serving the Paarl, Western Cape region. This role involves the physical installation, setup, and initial testing of specialized equipment at customer premises. You will work closely with clients to ensure seamless integration of systems, providing basic user guidance and troubleshooting any immediate issues that arise during the installation process. The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality service, representing the company professionally in the field. Some remote support for complex issues may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation and configuration of equipment according to technical documentation and company standards.
• Conduct thorough testing of installed systems to ensure full functionality and compliance with specifications.
• Identify and resolve basic technical issues encountered during installation.
• Provide clear, concise instructions and basic training to end-users on equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate records of all installation activities, including parts used and time spent.
• Coordinate with the operations team to manage site access, scheduling, and necessary resources.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations on job sites.

Requirements

• A technical qualification or proven experience in a similar installation or technical role.
• 1-3 years of experience in equipment installation or maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel within the Paarl area and occasionally surrounding regions.
