Process Engineer - Metallurgy

Our client requires a skilled Process Engineer specializing in metallurgy for their operations near Klerksdorp . This role focuses on optimizing metallurgical processes to maximize metal recovery and ensure product quality. You will be responsible for process monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. This is a key position within the metallurgical department, contributing to the overall success of the mining and processing activities in the North West province, requiring a strong technical foundation and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze metallurgical process performance, including comminution, flotation, and leaching.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction through data analysis and experimentation.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and develop effective solutions to maintain process stability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with plant operators and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation and effective equipment utilization.
• Participate in the design and implementation of process modifications and new plant start-ups.
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in metallurgical process engineering, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing operations and metallurgical principles.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to process improvement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
