Regional Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and community-focused Regional Sports Development Officer to drive the growth of sports participation across Nelspruit and the surrounding areas. This role involves initiating and managing grassroots sports programs, fostering partnerships with local schools and community groups, and identifying talent. You will play a key role in increasing access to sports, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing sports infrastructure within the Mpumalanga region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for sports development in the region.
• Organize and deliver community sports events, workshops, and training programs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local sports clubs, schools, and community leaders.
• Identify opportunities to secure funding and resources for sports development initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of programs, reporting on outcomes and achievements.

Requirements

• Degree in Sports Management, Education, Community Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in sports development or community program management.
• Proven track record in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of community engagement strategies and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of various sports and their development pathways.
