Construction Planner
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team, operating in a fully remote capacity to support projects primarily located around Vereeniging . This crucial role involves developing, coordinating, and monitoring project schedules and plans to ensure the efficient and timely completion of construction projects. You will be responsible for creating detailed construction programs, resource allocation plans, and risk assessments, working collaboratively with project managers and site teams from your home office. This position is ideal for a proactive planner who excels at strategic thinking and possesses strong analytical skills, contributing to project success through meticulous planning and foresight.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and construction programs using project management software.
- Analyze project scope, requirements, and potential risks to create effective planning strategies.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure alignment and integration of plans.
- Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare resource allocation plans, including labor, materials, and equipment, to support project timelines.
- Communicate planning updates and critical path information to all relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, or project coordination.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and sequences.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
