Logistics Planner - Supply Chain Optimization

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic Logistics Planner to join their dynamic team in Pretoria. This role focuses on optimizing the entire supply chain network, from sourcing to delivery, by leveraging data analysis and advanced planning tools. You will be responsible for developing efficient logistics plans, managing transportation networks, and identifying opportunities to enhance service levels while reducing costs. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking individual with a strong analytical background and a passion for continuous improvement in logistics and supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive logistics and transportation plans to meet operational and customer requirements.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, operations, sales) and external partners (carriers, suppliers) to ensure seamless execution of plans.
• Monitor transportation costs, carrier performance, and service levels, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Utilize advanced planning software and analytical techniques to optimize routes, modes of transport, and inventory deployment.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management and logistics to drive innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain analysis, or transportation management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using advanced planning software and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and forecasting techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience with ERP and TMS systems is highly desirable.
