About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Logistics Planner to optimize their transportation and warehousing activities in Paarl . This role is central to ensuring the efficient movement of goods, managing schedules, and coordinating with carriers and internal teams. You will analyze logistics data, identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, and develop effective plans to meet delivery requirements. This hybrid role offers a blend of strategic planning and operational coordination, contributing to the smooth functioning of supply chain operations in the Western Cape region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed logistics plans for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouse staff to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
- Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for optimization and savings.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare performance reports.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on logistics needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Logistics Planner or in a similar role within transportation or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, transportation modes, and route planning.
- Proficiency in logistics planning software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
