Leisure Facility Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented and experienced Leisure Facility Operations Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of their sports and recreational facilities in Mahikeng, North West . This critical role involves ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of all amenities, from sports courts and fields to fitness centers and social areas. You will lead a dedicated team, manage budgets, implement strategic operational plans, and focus on delivering exceptional experiences for members and visitors, thereby enhancing the facility's reputation and driving its commercial success within the vibrant leisure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all leisure and sports facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency, resource utilization, and service quality.
• Lead, train, and manage a team of facility staff, including maintenance personnel, customer service representatives, and program coordinators.
• Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and cost control measures for the operations department, aiming for profitability and sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions.
• Plan and coordinate facility maintenance schedules, capital improvement projects, and event support to meet operational demands.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the leisure, hospitality, or sports facility sector.
• Proven track record in managing budgets, staff, and operational processes effectively.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to leisure facilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• A degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
