In-house Counsel

Our client is looking for a versatile In-house Counsel to contribute to their legal department in Welkom . This role requires a legal professional capable of handling a broad range of legal matters pertinent to the company's operations in the mining and resources sector. You will play a key role in advising management, managing risks, and ensuring the company operates within the legal framework. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Review and negotiate various commercial agreements and transactional documents.
• Manage legal disputes and coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on emerging legal issues.
• Support the company's risk management framework.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house or within a firm serving industrial clients.
• Solid understanding of South African corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
