Remote Reservoir Engineer - Production Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Reservoir Engineer to focus on production optimization for their assets, particularly those near Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . This role is vital for maximizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing reservoirs through advanced analysis and strategic planning. You will work independently, leveraging data and simulation tools to identify opportunities for improved production efficiency and well performance. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility while maintaining a critical link to the company's operational success in the Oil & Gas sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production data and reservoir performance to identify areas for optimization.
• Develop and recommend strategies for enhancing oil and gas recovery (EOR).
• Utilize reservoir simulation tools to test and validate optimization concepts.
• Prepare detailed reports and technical recommendations for production teams.
• Collaborate virtually with field engineers and geoscientists to implement strategies.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented production enhancement techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir engineering , with a strong emphasis on production optimization.
• Proven experience with reservoir simulation software and production data analysis.
• Deep understanding of EOR methods and reservoir characterization.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
