SUMMARY:
We are seeking two proactive, driven, and dependable Assistant Technicians to join a dynamic technical team in Montague Gardens.

POSITION INFO:

Assistant Technicians (1-Year Contract with Permanent Potential) - Montague Gardens, Cape Town- Salary R10,000 – R14,000 Per Month

Position Type: 1-Year Contract (Strong potential to become permanent for dedicated, high performers)

Working Hours: Mon–Thu 07:30–16:30 | Fri 07:30–14:00 (Must be open to weekend work/travel when required)

About the Role

We are seeking two proactive, driven, and dependable Assistant Technicians to join a dynamic technical team in Montague Gardens. This is an ideal role for energetic candidates who have completed their practical training and possess leadership potential combined with a strong work ethic.

Whether you are a recently qualified graduate who has finished your practicals or an ambitious individual with a solid electrical foundation, this role offers excellent growth opportunities for someone willing to put in the hard work and prove themselves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site & Installation Work: Assist on-site with new installations, repairs, maintenance, and call-outs.
  • Technical Tasks: Test and repair motors, wire control panels according to drawings, and assist in manufacturing electrical components.
  • Admin & Stock: Complete daily timesheets, log call-out job cards, and assist with stock inventory.
  • Maintenance & Tools: Maintain, safely operate, and organize company tools; oversee company vehicle upkeep and cleanliness.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Proven electrical background (Electrical NQF courses) with all practical requirements fully completed (open to qualified graduates).
  • Location: Must live within a 30km radius of Montague Gardens.
  • Driver''s License: Valid Code B Driver’s License (Valid passport is an added advantage).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read basic electrical drawings, basic motor wiring, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attitude & Drive: Go-getter attitude, natural leadership traits, self-motivated, and disciplined with high attention to detail.

Physical & Working Conditions

  • Must be physically and medically fit, comfortable working at heights, and able to work in cold storage environments (down to ).
  • Open to occasional travel outside of Cape Town for extended installation periods.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team environment.
