About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to support their petrochemical operations in Vereeniging . This hybrid role involves optimizing chemical processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest safety standards within their plants. You will be responsible for analyzing process data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance production output and product quality. Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams, both on-site and remotely, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and continuous improvement within the Oil & Gas and Chemical industries .
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex chemical process issues to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Design and specify process equipment, control systems, and modifications.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Generate technical reports, procedures, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support plant activities and capital projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in petrochemical or related industries.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is essential.
- Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
